buserelin/suprecur for down regulation

I am currently on day 9 of down regulation with buserelin (suprecur) on my first cycle of IVF. I started on cycle day 21 and I have 9 more days of down reg before I start stims.

Just wondered if there's anybody else out there currently on down reg with buserelin? How are you finding it?

My symptoms are coming in waves but are not too bad so far. Some nausea, muscle aches and a bit of tearfulness in the last few days (although that could be because AF is due).

Me! Hello! I'm on day 6 of Buserelin having started on CD17. So glad you started this thread, I've been looking for others going through the same and haven't really found anything.

Glad you're not feeling too bad so far, fingers crossed it stays like that. I was a bit head achey but that's got better since drinking loads. Otherwise fine I think. I did notice muscle aches too but have been trying to be more active to get ahead of the expected weight gain. And I have zero sex drive, ha! But don't know if that's just because of where I'm at in my cycle.

Hope the next step goes well for you!

Hi @WildForTheNight it's good to have a friend going through the same. Most people on the IVF threads are on short protocol I have found.

Is this your first cycle? How are you finding the jabs? I have found sometimes they really sting.

Hope you're feeling ok today. Well done on trying to be active! I have been trying to get out and have walks in the fresh air.

When are you scheduled to start the stims part?

xx

@lemons44

I'm fairly clueless about short vs long protocol- I was supposed to be on Gonapeptyl but it got recalled so am now on 0.3mg of Buserelin. Do you know the difference between long/short?

Yep, first cycle. We'll have been trying for 3 years in June. How are you feeling about the stims? Are you doing the injections yourself? I've found them generally painless but the occasional one is really stingy, like you said. I've got a scan on the 24th so I'm assuming stims after that if it's all looking ok. I've got no idea when to expect my period- will that just come on at the usual time?

Well done on the walks, it's been really grey and rainy here so I've had no motivation to get out this week! Hope you're still feeling ok xx

@WildForTheNight long protocol has down regulation for a few weeks before stims start. Whereas short protocol starts straight away with stims.

Omg today is the first day I feel soooo hormonal! Literally really struggling at work today.

How are you doing xx

@lemons44 Sorry! I completely forgot to reply.

Oh love, that sucks. Are you in a job where you can skive a bit? Do you think it's from the stims? I started mine 2 days ago so just waiting for the side effects to kick in. Yay!

Hope you're feeling slightly better today and have some nice stuff planned for the weekend xx
