Hi, I had my embryo transfer yesterday and I took ibuprofen last night as I was feeling under the weather and aching. I didn’t realise you are not supposed to, it’s never been mentioned by my clinic , so I made myself sick about an hour later as I panicked! Then I stressed about being sick like I could have caused the embryo to move or something 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I think my mind is in overdrive with everything I am doing! Any words of wisdom to put my crazy thoughts in perspective? X

I think you already threw it up. Don't stress too much. Pregnancy causes morning sickness anyway.

Don't panic, making yourself stressed will probably have a worse negative effect.

As far as I'm aware the reason you shouldn't take ibuprofen is because it can affect your lining.

Are you on progesterone pessaries?

Maybe phone your clinic if you're really worried and ask their advice.
I'm surprised they didn't mention it, but I'm sure it's not the end of the world.

Thanks for replying, yes I’m on progrestrone pesseries my lining was 10.2 so hopefully it won’t have effected it. Everything is such a worry. Maybe I will call the clinic

One dose of ibuprofen won't affect anything. You don't need to talk to your clinic - they won't do/ be able to do anything - just don't take any more.

@AlexisR I definitely won’t be taking anymore! Thanks for your message you are right in all honesty one dose will not do anything. I know as long as you are not chugging down wine and smoking like a chimney there is nothing you can do to change the outcome of this! 🙏

@Bobbin83 Exactly... human embryos are pretty strong little things really! If it's going to implant then a bit of ibuprofen or even a sip of alcohol isn't going to stop it.

So I honestly wouldn't worry, but I do understand the journey with IVF and it is really difficult to think that something you do might affect the outcome. The truth is, if it's going to work it will work :) Good luck.

@AlexisR Absolutely right! Thank you, what will be will be 🤞: )
