@CR7 @Fizzle1987 - I wish I had the same willpower as you both. I broke down and test as soon as I could (yesterday.)

I haven’t had any symptoms so wanted to mentally prepare myself because test day isn’t too far now xx

Everyone is different so don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I can definitely see something on that pregnancy test though. Xx

Vallef · 04/05/2023 13:03

@IVFfirsttimer91 I can imagine hun. But you have to make sure everything is good and back to where they should be so you can start round 2 as your health has to come first! The shitty thing with EPU when I went for my miscarriage is you have to sit with all the very pregnant women and whilst am sure no one begrudge them their good fortune it's a horrendous experience I think for me personally so I totally get it.

IVFfirsttimer91 · 04/05/2023 13:18

@Vallef The nurse that i was speaking to was very heavily pregnant as well. Which didn’t help. She was so lovely and apologetic I felt like I had to say not to worry about me, congratulations and that I wished her all the best. It wasn’t easy at all, but whilst I am sad for me, I am happy for everyone who is expecting. I recon we will probably be trying again in June/July. So who knows, might have another Taurus in the family.

CR7 · 04/05/2023 14:36

@IVFfirsttimer91 @Vallef your strength is commendable xx

Vallef · 04/05/2023 14:44

@IVFfirsttimer91 bless I can imagine she must have also felt terrible. We have alot of strength inside of us and we show it just by the fact we're still going strong and triying again. We will succeed xx

IVFfirsttimer91 · 04/05/2023 20:12

Thanks @CR7 & @Vallef yeah I felt bad for her she clearly felt uncomfortable and I didn’t want her to feel bad. Good news though, I’ve got my next consultation on the 15th may to put a plan in place for my next round! DP is in bed with a bug and sleeping it off so haven’t been able to tell him yet, but he’s going to be happy.

Frisbeee · 04/05/2023 20:24

@IVFfirsttimer91 so sorry to hear what you’re going through. You sound so strong and like you’re dealing with it all so well. Hope you’re next cycle is the right me for you x

Hope everyone else is getting on well in the tww? Not long to wait for some!

Vallef · 04/05/2023 20:38

Morning ladies, hope you’re all doing well?

Have others been testing out their trigger shot or is it just me being crazy and obsessive??! How long did it take to leave? I believe the standard is 10-14 days but just interested to hear personal experiences

CR7 · 05/05/2023 10:23

@Frisbeee what do you mean testing out? xx

As in pregnancy tests each day?

Frisbeee · 05/05/2023 10:28

@CR7 yes doing pregnancy tests to see them get fainter as the trigger leaves your system. That way you know when you get a positive on test day that it’s accurate and not from trigger residual. I had a false positive with one of my IUI’s so probably being overly cautious!! Although there was a chance that could also have been a chemical but I’ll never know. I’ve only done a couple of tests, have been slightly more reserved than every day :)

CR7 · 05/05/2023 10:34

@Frisbeee ah gotcha. No experience on that as my three transfers have all be frozen xx

CR7 · 05/05/2023 10:35

@Frisbeee ps well done on only testing a couple of times. I know it's mega tempting x

Frisbeee · 05/05/2023 10:52

@CR7 thank you, it’s so tempting!! Our expectations have been set very low on this cycle due to complications so it’s partly nice to be living in ignorant bliss and holding onto hope!!
How are you getting on? Your test is soon isn’t it? It’s so hard to keep track of where everyone is!! xx

CR7 · 05/05/2023 10:59

Yes my transfer day was last Tuesday so today is day ten after a five day embryo transfer.

Test date is Monday. I too would rather live in a hopeful bubble keeping my stress levels low.

It will still be awful if it's a negative result; I'm not getting excited at all, but as I can't change the result I'd rather try to spend the two weeks trying to be zen if I can xx

CR7 · 05/05/2023 10:59

@Frisbeee forgot to tag you!

Frisbeee · 05/05/2023 11:05

@CR7 eeeekk that’s great that test day is so soon!! I’ve got an extra week on you and test day is a week on Monday!

It sounds like you’re doing really well to keep calm and relaxed, it’s so hard to do!

I think there are three on this thread testing on Monday aren’t there? Sending lots of positive vibes to you all!!

CR7 · 05/05/2023 11:10

Yes. Hopefully some good news for at least one of us. So many negative results on the threads I'm on xx @Frisbeee

Vallef · 05/05/2023 11:39

@CR7 that's so patient of you!! I know what you mean though I was the same. I said not knowing at least you live in hope right? But they tested me on day 9 so I guess I didn't have as long to wait because they take into consideration its a day 5 embryo so makes the 14 days xx

CR7 · 05/05/2023 11:41

@Vallef I'm also a day five transfer but my clinic said OTD Monday x

CR7 · 05/05/2023 11:44

@Vallef did you go in for a blood test? Sadly my clinic don't offer that x

April623 · 05/05/2023 12:11

@Frisbeee It was my fist cycle and I did the same but it's not as simple as that, I didn't realise there could be overlap between the trigger hcg and the hcg at the start of a pregnancy. I had super faint lines on day 1-3 as you would expect from the trigger, much stronger ones on days 4-5 which then faded to nothing by day 8 so I think I had a chemical but won't know for sure. Next time I think I would try and hold off until at least day 7-9.

Vallef · 05/05/2023 12:20

@CR7 did you ask them? My clinic in my first 2 cycles in the UK told me to do a urine home test and if positive they would do a blood test but when I said in my 2nd cycle I didn't want to do that they told me to come in for a blood test of I wanted. This cycle is in Greece and I went in for a blood test everything here is amazing they tell you the price which is decent and then everything is covered scan and bloods every other day and I see my doctor not just anyone. When I went in for the egg collection it was like a Sci fic movie. Electronic doors opening into the surgery room private with a small window for the embryologist to pop their head in and confirm the details they put on some kind of sheet in a shape of a boot so covered me up until thighs and warm sheet over my arms and a nurse just rubbing my hair. When it was done porters lift into another bed and they leave you till you wake up. Even for transfer day same thing they don't let you move for at least 20 minutes where ad in the UK I felt like a bloody cow doctor was going in one door and into the next foe yhe next person and it was ah ur done up you go get dressed and by bye type of thing. Honestly being here has been the best thing possible for my mental state as well.

Frisbeee · 05/05/2023 12:23

@April623 Ahh thank you so much for your reply and sorry to hear about your first outcome. I think the overlap is my concern really. I did test this morning which is 9 days past trigger and 4 days past transfer and there was nothing not an incredibly faint line. I think I just need to not test until OTD!!

Hope you’re getting on well? xx
