Hey guys,

I just had a quick question on how to determine your first day of your cycle.

I had spotting last night, pink discharge this morning and full bleeding at around 2pm, would tomorrow be the first day of my cycle or would you count today as the first day of my cycle?

I’m a little confused and want to be sure I’m starting on the right day!

My clinic says it's the first day of full bleeding, but if the bleeding starts after 4pm, it's the next day. So my clinic would classify today as your first day of cycle.

I had very similar, I started ‘heavy bleeding’ the afternoon after I started spotting so classed that as day 1, went in on what I saw as day 3 for them to send me home and come back the ne t day as my lining wasn’t thin enough.
id suggest calling your clinic and just asking them how they determine ‘day 1’ as there could be some difference between clinics.

Ah I see, my clinic say anything after 12pm doesn’t count so the following day would be day one. I just can’t decide whether the pinkish discharge prior to 12pm was enough to count it as a full bleed as I started fully bleeding around 2pm

Oh I see, I was wondering if it’s better to count tomorrow as day 1 or today as day 1 in terms of the effectiveness of the treatment. I’m leaning towards counting tomorrow as day 1 as I think it’s what goes most in line with what my clinic says

I’m not sure if it makes too much difference to treatment but I guess it’s always best to check with the clinic to be sure 🤞🏼
