Thanks for the tag. I'll try again to see if there is anyone else with recent updates. Any updates on timing with Aberdeen clinic?
Hope for you all a positive outcome :)

LT103 · 27/03/2023 21:41

@kitty12345678 amazing you got 2 great blasts!! Fingers crossed for a good 2ww

im doing good thanks. 30 weeks yesterday so it’s all suddenly becoming very real. In middle of decorating and making sure we have everything bought that we need 😬
waiting on gestational diabetes test but other than that it’s going ok.

LouScot · 27/03/2023 22:24

Thanks for the new thread @itsmschanandlerbong

Kamiros · 28/03/2023 06:46

@kitty12345678 Aw fantastic news, so pleased for you.

Transfer day for me today!

Kamiros · 28/03/2023 13:43

Transfer all done - PUPO again 😃. Now got 3 more days in Spain to relax in the lovely sunshine before we come home.

LT103 · 28/03/2023 16:58

Fingers crossed for you @Kamiros sit back and enjoy the sunshine while you’re there

Kamiros · 28/03/2023 17:13

@LT103 Thanks. Glad all is going well for you.

Wilbem · 28/03/2023 17:19

Thanks for adding. Could anyone update me with what happens after you've had transvaginal scan and bloods done at hospital?

Good luck everyone!

itsmschanandlerbong · 28/03/2023 20:25

@LT103 that's great, best of luck for the next 10 weeks!

@Kamiros happy transfer day! Keeping everything crossed for you that this is the one!

@Wilbem which hospital are you at and are you private or NHS funded? For us, DH sperm analysis came back with low sperm, so there was then a reason found for our infertility and we needed ICSI so we had a consultation with the doctor and we're added to the waiting list.

I don't think I updated after my last post. I had said about having the initial testing for our sibling round. We were completely shocked to find there was no sperm at all found in DH's sample. We knew he had a low sperm count from before, but he did have sperm. He has a repeat SA next week and some hormone bloods and then we have a follow up consultation 2 days later. During our initial testing, he had hormone bloods done, an ultrasound and genetic tests all of which came back fine. There was no known cause for his low sperm count. My head has been going into overdrive with it all, just trying not to think too far ahead and take it a step at a time.

We're at Aberdeen. We had all husband's bloods etc done that you mentioned as it's also low sperm in our case.

So sorry to hear the sperm count has lowered. Hope things work out for you

itsmschanandlerbong · 28/03/2023 21:07

@Wilbem at our consultation, the consultant added us to the waiting list then, so hopefully you'll get a date for that soon. We're Glasgow though I assume it's similar. Have they said all of your initial tests are done?

Wilbem · 28/03/2023 22:16

Husband to get an ultrasound and me an MRI as I've an odd shaped uterus that may raise risk of miscarriage so they want to confirm. Shouldn't affect getting pregnant though.

Kitty12345678 · 29/03/2023 13:38

Nervous during this tww. Only 2dpt 5dt but just hoping I’d feel some kind of symptoms like cramping or sore boobs. I know it’s likely too early.

@itsmschanandlerbong thanks for the new thread

@LT103 amazing news you are so far on now.

@Kamiros thanks good luck with your 2ww 🤞🏻Hope you are enjoying sunny Spain

@Wilbem not sure about waiting times in Aberdeen but fingers crossed they are fast putting you on the waiting list. Sorry to hear about the sperm results. Hopefully they can give you both more info on next steps.

Thanks hopewishprayer @LouScot @KoraPersefone

Kamiros · 29/03/2023 14:07

@Kitty12345678 I know how you feel. I think you just can't tell- this is my 5th transfer and I've had all sorts or symptoms before and it's never worked. The one time I was pregnant naturally i felt nothing. When do you test?

I am enjoying it here but had a massive panic this morning that the sun was too hot for the embryo and have been sitting inside for a bit.

Does anyone know what Glasgow Royal Fertility Clinic's view is on breastfeeding and fertility treatment? GCRM advised me that they don't offer treatment during breastfeeding, so just thinking whether that's a policy elsewhere too...

They never actually asked me if I had stopped BF, but that's because we were dealing with an unexpected issue that had come up. I have read that they don't allow you to start treatment if you're breastfeeding. There is a facebook group for fertility treatment in Glasgow, might be worth asking there.

Thanks @itsmschanandlerbong I'll check that out.

Hope everyone is well and that this thread brings good luck!

Kitty12345678 · 31/03/2023 12:33

@Kamiros thanks, that makes me feel alot better knowing that not everyone has symptoms.

I test on Thursday but think I will likely know if it’s not worked just before that as I get obvious PMT when my hormones dip.

How are you feeling now? A bit of sun will be good, I think it’s only hot water bottles they don’t recommend after transfer. When is your test day? Are you testing in Spain?. I’ll send you a PM 😊

Kamiros · 31/03/2023 15:10

Sadly I have now landed back in rainy Edinburgh. Definitely think the few days out there helped, I haven't googled once. 😂 Back to work Monday but at least its a short week. Think I'm going to test Saturday, I can test from Friday but can't get a blood test until after easter. I'm usually great at waiting but don't think I can wait that long this time!

itsmschanandlerbong · 08/04/2023 10:28

@Kamiros @Kitty12345678 sending lots of luck and love for test day!

We had the consultation following repeat SA and blood and by some miracle they actually found sperm, after the last sample being azoospermic. It ended up being one of DH better samples at 3mil/ml!! The only explanation we could find is that the flu and high fever he had at the end of January killed his sperm. So I am waiting for the clinic to invoice us then we can get started again! The nurse seemed to think we could potentially be looking at egg collection in July!

@itsmschanandlerbong That's great news. We had something similar with my DH after he had covid, a couple of months later it was much better.

I've decided to hang off until my beta on Tuesday. I didn't want to ruin Easter weekend if its BFN and we don't want to get excited in case of low hcg etc. I've no idea what it's going to be- had some cramping the last couple of days and been sick this morning- but I'm on a lot of medication so can't read into any of it. Thanks for the wishes.

LT103 · 08/04/2023 17:43

@Kamiros best of luck for Tuesday!!!

Kamiros · 08/04/2023 17:52

Thanks @LT103

Hello all! Could do with the community you have going here 👋 We’ve had the runaround with our referral due to moving house (we are now in Ayrshire) and our new GP not being supportive, but finally got to the top of the list and have a phone appointment on Monday. Excited and nervous for what’s ahead. It’s so hard to find information on what to expect timewise. From previous threads, it’s consent and then some more tests? Our issue so far has been poor morphology, though I’m 37, and understand there could be more issues. Further complicated by my working away from home when I’ve got work. If anyone could clue me up on timeline and appointments post consent signing I’d be very grateful. Best wishes to those of you going through the process rn.
