Hiya!

My OH and I have been TTC for 3 months but due to our ages (39 and 52) we thought it best to get a fertility MOT.

I was wondering if there are any blindlingly obvious questions I should be asking? Or anything in particular I need to look out for when they issue me with the results?

Many thanks in advance 🌟

I would suggest you to lie about the time you've been ttc, ok that mostly GP starts investigations after 6 months at that age, but fertility clinics have 2 years timing before doing anything so, lie (I'm 35 and ttc for a little over a year and I told them It was 3 years as my fertility clinic won't touch you before 2 years and I just found out that my ovaric reserve is very low so, I did the right thing in lying).
Beside that you should start with blood work for you, middle cycle to see lh levels, a week after that to see progesteron levels to see if you ovulate or not and a week after that to check fsh that gives you an idea on your ovarica reserve and other hormones.
This timing is if you have a regular 28days cycle.
Smear test and clamidia swab. These are practically the first steps to do to even to access fertility treatments. You OH should have the semen analysis as well.
As long as the results came bake in range, there is nothing else you should check.
I didn't ask any questions to my gb but I was already pretty informed on everything. I did my amh test privately and that I found out my low ovaric reserve (you can do that as well, as far as I know gp doesn't do that, fertility clinic does but if you want to know right away, take the test).
Are you checking your ovulation or anything else?

Ttc might take up to 6 months in case of ladies 35+. I recommend to continue ttc during next 1-2 months to see whether you will get pregnant naturally. If this does not happen, your hubby and you need to see a fertility specialist to do tests to know the reasons. Good luck
