Access Fertility IVF Refund Package?

Hey :)

Just wondering whether anyone has any experience of the Access Fertility IVF Refund packages?

My partner (27) and I (29) are due to start IVF next month, and I applied for the 3 cycle 100% refund package with Access Fertility.

We've just been informed by Access Fertility that we will only be accepted on the 50% refund package. I was too shocked to ask for a reason, but wondered whether this has happened to anyone else and, if so, why that was?

Debating whether or not to just pay privately, so thoughts on Access Fertility's packages would be most welcome!

Thanks in advance x

Hi lovely!!

We also applied for the 100% refund, as in our eyes in was the most secure and we were worried IVF just wouldn’t work for us.

Access declined us, and we were offered the 50% money back instead, for 2 cycles. In hindsight, I wish we just paid for the multi cycle deal - but that’s just because we were super lucky and got pregnant first time with IVF/ICSI. Meaning we overspent but obviously we don’t care now that we’re pregnant 😊

Whats your diagnosis? Ours was male factor, so I think that was why we weren’t allowed the other package!! But so glad we didn’t pay more money now for it to work first time hahaha x

Same here, we have MF and were offered the multi-cycle rather than the refund. I thought it was a bit odd for them to say that due to the MF we don't get the refund one. If there was not MF issue we would not be doing ICSI in the first place. We are still thinking whether the multicycle would be a good option for us; we will prob take it more for peace of mind.

Thank you both so much for replying!

It makes me feel better knowing we're not the only ones who have been turned down for the 100% refund programme.

We have both MF and FF issues - I have PCOS and partner has reduced sperm count due to issues from when he was a child.

I called Access back and they said they were concerned about my partner's sperm count, and my potential reaction to the IVF medication, and that is why they apparently declined us for the 100% refund package.

Izzie94x - that's so amazing it worked for you first time, congrats!

Daphnaki - totally get where you're coming from, we're having ICSI due to MF issues which surely the ICSI will overcome!

We've opted for the 3 cycle 50% refund package, hoping we won't need 3 cycles but you never know.

IVF is such a horrible gambling game!
