Embryo grading

Hi, new to mumsnet 😊 im 39 and we recently started ivf, and managed 31 eggs (ouch) and a very painful recovery!

26 mature and 16 fertlised and 9 made it to day 3. We had one frozen on day 3, grade 1, 8 cells so they say.
By day 6 we had 2 CC embryos to freeze, which is better than nothing i guess!
I know its a lottery in terms of grading but how bad is CC? And would it be more worthwhile transferring the day 3 or waiting untill its reached day 5 and see if it ends up being better than the other 2? Tia 😊

Hi @Magic2023 did you find out the answer at all? In a very similar boat as yourself so wondered

ive got a day 3 frozen and then two at day 5 (5BB and 3CC) I did wonder why they’ve asked to freeze 3CC if it was poor quality!

@Magic2023 i hope you recovered well after the egg collection - I only had 7 eggs to collect and i did have mild to moderate cramps the day of collection and the following day. Hope your journey went well afterwards as well. I’m with create Manchester :)

@Maria12060 they are simply freezing grades, that's it. I also had a 3cc and because they said the quality of my embryos was so poor and unlikely to result in a pregnancy I could transfer both of them.

@Magic2023 omgggg I’m so thrilled for you - congratulations!!!! How are you feeling? Hope the nausea / fatigue isn’t too bad at this stage!

did you transfer two day 5 3CC’s? Or did the clinic suggest transferring the day 3 frozen one first.

it’s my first IVF cycle as well and all this embryo talk goes over my head tbh! waiting for the doctor to ring me so I can ask him my million questions haha

@Maria12060 mine were both day 5 fresh transfers. We had a third that took until day 6 to reach blast but because of the quality they wouldn't freeze excess poor quality for future use
