Letrozol - Slow growing follicles

Hey!

I’m on my second letrozol cycle, the first one was cancelled because of a cyste.

I started on day 3-7, on day 10 I had a scan and there were 2 follicles of 8mm on the right ovary, left nothing significant. Today on day 15 I had to come back and we found out it only grew with 1 mm… they don’t want to cancel this cycle yet because I have quite long cycles myself (PCOS) and they want to be sure nothing is happening. I have to come back on day 18 of my cycle, it feels a bit like false hope. And I’m afraid for yet again a disappointment.

Anybody else has any experience with slow growing follicles?

Hello @Joosie ,
I had a similar experience on my first Letrozole cycle. The dominant follicle was 14 mm on cd14 and by cd16 it only grew by 1mm. Unfortunately it started to shrink after that and the cycle didn’t work. On a more positive note, I got a higher dose of letrozole (5 mg) for the second cycle and I managed to ovulate, so don’t lose hope.
I was given Duphaston to induce a period after the failed cycle, so I didn’t have to wait too long to start again.
Good luck!
