Looking to see if anyone has experience of immature eggs and managed to have a successful round of IVF which produced mature eggs? We’ve just completed our second round of IVF in very quick succession, both producing the same result, 7 eggs, 2 mature, 1 fertilised with ICSI. Our our second round they gave me an extra day of Gonal F so my follicles were bigger on the second round and they collected after 36 hours of the trigger, rather than 32 in the first round. On both rounds I’ve been on the highest does of Gonal F (300). We did do a transfer on the first round as we had a good looking day 5 blast (bfn) but round 2 it stopped growing at 8 cells so no transfer.
Our clinic have been amazing, so supportive but the nurse called me this week to check in and said my case had been reviewed and they didn’t think there was much else they could do but our Consultant would discuss with us at our debrief. She then asked me if I had considered donor eggs!!!!???! Erm no because we were referred due to Male factor infertility and none of my test had ever suggested there was any need for me to consider donor eggs!! Obviously this is really shocking news and before I can accept that, I need to get a second opinion from another clinic (which is a whole other new problem to navigate !).
Has anyone had any experience of this? Did you manage to get an improved outcome? I’ve read in a few places a ‘low and slow’ approach to stimming might be a better way to go or a higher dose of HcG…
Any thoughts at this point welcome! Pretty desperate over here! Thanks!
