FET immediately after failed FET

Hey

I am nearing the end of my 2 week wait and still BFN.

I have spoken to the clinic who advised as long as the Dr signs off, they are happy to start an immediate FET cycle on my first cycle day (two days after my actual test date for this transfer)

Has anybody has experience in going straight in for another FET cycle on the period immediately after a failed FET? I’d technically be starting my next cycle next week!

Any experience/advice? So much to think about and also worried if this would work should my period come on or before my test date?

Thanks so much

Yes, I did this the majority of times and my doctor always said it was fine. I had a bit of medication but not loads... so would have i think a bit of estrogen and a trigger shot, and progesterone obviously.

i had a lot of failed transfers but I don't think it was because of this. My son was a successful transfer back to back from a failed one.

i found it helped mentally to just keep on going. I always think on these boards ppl seem to put up with wasting such a lot of time in the process, because clinics make them wait til it hasn't worked before they can book in, and then sometimes there is no availability. It would have driven me mad. I did 6 transfers in 8 months before my DD finally stuck. It was utterly shit at the time but worth keeping on trucking in hindsight.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience that’s reassured me a lot.
I feel similar to you in that my mind is already in this space and I just want to carry on and avoid a 4-6 gap between transfers! I’ll drive myself insane waiting!!

how long after failed transfers did your period start?

Hi, I’m doing exactly this at the moment. I’m sorry to hear about your BFN. I was in a similar position last month, I knew my fresh transfer had failed at about 10dp5dt from the HPTs but my clinic wanted the confirmation from the blood test which I had scheduled for around 13dp5dt. They advised that if it did turn out to be a negative then I could start again with my next bleed. I think I got the results from the hcg bloods on the Wednesday, stopped the medication that day and then my period started on the Saturday, so 3 days later, just as they had predicted to be honest.

As @Hanna86 says, it does feel quite relentless but it also feels good to be keeping on going rather than waiting around. I did a bit of googling and it didn’t seem to have any negative impact on positive results as opposed to taking a break. I feel I have little choice, as due to my age, my clinic (in Prague) can only treat me until the end of May, so even though it feels hard going at the moment, I want to give it my best shot. I’m having my next FET on Wednesday x

How's it going OP?

Hey! Thanks for checking in!

all good, transfer a week on Friday! The most nervous I’ve ever been for a cycle after experiencing the heart break of one failed cycle!
