Failed IVF - Periods

Hello

Unfortunately I had an unsuccessful IVF last month and came on my period around the same time as usual, during the two week wait after my embryo transfer.

I was due on my period this week but had no signs yet (negative pregnancy test too)
I was expecting my period to be around the same time, given it was during the two week wait after transfer.

Has anyone experienced similar? If so, how late was your period? I always had regular 28 days cycles before IVF.

Hi @Hollycrook26 so sorry to hear you had an unsuccessful round of IVF. I came on my period during the 2 week wait (this has happened both cycles, the most recent was last weekend). The first time round I came on when I was expecting to the following month.

Drugs messed my body up big time and it can take me up to 4 months for my normal cycle to return or feel ohsyiclaly and mentally like myself. Some people not so many issues but it is referred to as the 'ivf hangover"! So, frustrating as it is, it's quite normal what you're experiencing, plus, even rhoughbitz the hardest thing, your body will need time to recover between cycles. That was hardest thing for me after 1st cycle x
