PCOS and IVF

Hi, first time posting on here! Just looking for anyone in the same boat as I seem to be (according to the fertility consultant) an unusual case. We have been ttc for 2 years I have PCOS and an AMH level of 132 and no regular period, (at 33 this is really high). Everything else is all good - in the right place etc!! I have just done a failed course of clomid and have two more goes (not hopeful as my ovaries didn't respond at all to first lot) Then it's onto the IVF journey. We have been warned that with such high follicle count IVF may not result in a good number of successful embryos so may not work but no other option. OH has a son so NHS don't want to know, it just feels like an endless battle with no positive end in sight. Feeing pretty fed up about the whole thing and just hoping someone out there has a success story !

Hi Lowo! Sorry to hear you are struggling. Fellow pcos sufferer here! Are you on myo-inositol or metformin to help regulate your period? Have you tried all the various lifestyle changes etc? How’s your bmi? I have found with pcos it’s trial and error to get my body to cooperate in terms of responding to drugs etc.

Hi! Thank you so much for replying, I am on myo-inositol but not metformin. I have reduced carbs but have removed them completely- have you found it made a difference? Any other lifestyle changes ?
My BMI is 24 and I regularly exercise so I guess - lean PCOS ??!

P.s. although on myo-inositol still no regular periods 😔

Do you have other pcos symptoms or just the irregular periods? Are your periods normal or light and short? This will also impact your fertility chances, it did me anyway.

I used to limit carbs, but after years of low carb diets I realised this wasn’t good for pcos. Causes stress I think and idea is to keep hormones balanced. Similar story with exercise. I used to run and do hit= no periods for me. Swapped for slow weights and yoga, started to get my periods back.

inositol didn’t work for me, nor did metformin, but I know it does for many. Worth a try.

Mainly just the irregular periods and cystic acne - it sucks ! I'm 33 I thought I would be spot free by now 😂 if I get it it's a normal period just super high AMH

Ahh that's interesting, do you do anything else to help with the symptoms? I have been looking
into a different exercise routine too!
I hope you don't mind me asking but did you manage to conceive?

Thank you so much

@Lowo21 how are you? Have you gone through IVF already? I have lean PCOs too.
