What's going on with my periods?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has experienced similar and if this is normal.

For context, TTC 4+ years and been having fertility treatments for 3 (previously IVF with partner, and now IUI with a donor). It's male factor - I am told my fertility is completely fine - I have regular cycles and am mid-30's so should be able to conceive easily, but I haven't after 4 rounds of IUI. I'm a little overweight (not obese).

And since I started having all this fertility treatment, my periods have changed.

I get a lot more pain in the days leading up to my period than I used to, and I feel aware of my ovaries throughout the month, they hurt especially around my period and around ovulation but I can get twinges at any point in my cycle. My period is very light, only lasts 2 days, painful, and is very watery, not bright red blood like it used to be.

The IUI procedures have been very painful the last 3 times I've had it, the nurse doing it doesn't seem to believe me when I say it's agony because it's not painful for most people, but it really hurts me.

Has anyone had similar to this after taking fertility hormones etc? Consultant says my pain is not bad enough to be endometriosis and she doesn't want to put me through the test which I suppose I do agree with as it's quite major. I don't have PCOS but often get a couple of small cysts which have been on the outside of my ovaries, not inside.

Just don't know what's going on and if I should be worried or not, the doctor says I'm fine but I feel like there's definitely been a change.

Is this just normal ageing/ cycles changing, or could IVF have caused some kind of problem? (I did respond badly to the IVF drugs and got OHSS - hence changing to IUI).

Thanks for any insights!
