How private ivf impacts nhs funding

I got referred to get fertility treatment on the NHS but so far it has taken months so have had a private round of ivf, we got 3 embryos (yay) but now I am questioning if the nhs will not fund my second round because I have those 3 embryos frozen? In my local area it said they don’t offer ivf to anyone who has has 2 rounds of private ivf. Would I still be eligible? Has anyone done private then nhs, do they ask you about this? Long shot as to if anyone has an answer on this but worth a try!

It's all CCG dependent, some you lose NHS rounds if you go private, some you don't. Sounds like you will still have NHS as you haven't had two private rounds, but I'm guessing that you're eligible to two NHS rounds so perhaps you'd only be eligible for one now? I think its such an unfair thing where people have found the money somehow to go private as time isn't on our side and in some CCGs you still lose the NHS rounds. In mine in Surrey you can have as many private rounds as you like and still qualify for NHS.

Are you planning to transfer your three embryos from private before doing an NHS round? You may not need to use the NHS if so, I did a private round back in August and am now 19 weeks pregnant with 4 embryos still frozen so won't need to touch my NHS rounds, luckily as I'm still awaiting funding letter when we applies way back when!

Have you had an embryo transferred from that round ?

Why haven't you used them rather then freeze them
