I went in for my second transfer yesterday to find the embryo didn't survive the thaw, and the other 2 day 3s we had on ice slowly developed and then collapsed in on themselves. I'm 41 been trying for a second child since I was 37. I seem to fall pregnant naturally after having surgery to remove endometriosis, or via IVF (our first transfer was successful but resulted in a miscarriage). I cant justify having endless invasive surgeries, or IVF cycles when I only retrieve a max of 2 eggs, 1 embryo per cycle if im lucky and those are the results.

We are very fortunate to have our 5 year old, but would so dearly love to give him a sibling but feel this may be the end of the road for us. Options that I've been considering are:

  • Depot Lupron injection to suppress my endometriosis and try naturally with clomid/timed intercourse.
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine

Has anyone been in this position that can offer some advice? I spent most of yesterday in a bit of a shocked emotional daze.

Hi @mumtumtru , i found your thread after looking under Lupron. Did you take any steps toward this? I had lupron for 12 weeks and our IVF failed. Have you tested your embryos? I am now tired and have asked for a break and do the ovulation assistance and then timed intercourse for 3 months but I am not coming on a period since i came off the injection. It has been nearly two months now. Quite frustrating indeed

Hi im so sorry for my slow reply Ive only just seen this pop up under my notifications. No I didnt do it but I know friends that did and were successful. I did not test our embryos, we had 3 on ice, one didnt thaw and the other two didnt grow so we threw in the towel.
