Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has experience or can maybe help..

We have been TTC for a while, after a miscarriage we decided to get some tests done which showed my husbands sperm wasn’t great but all my tests were fine.

we decided to go to a private fertility clinic due to the sperm results to possibly start IVF but whilst having my internal scan it showed possible fluid inside my left tube which I just feel so devastated about.

I know really to go forward with IVF or to conceive naturally it will likely need to be removed but unsure I can stand waiting on the NHS.

Has anyone gone private and have a rough idea of price? Struggling to find much info online… or gone NHS and not had to bad of a wait?

any help massively appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thank you x

Hi, I may require this surgery I'm waiting on having another scan to confirm if there is fluid or if there is a cyst as the consultant really wasn't sure. I really hope there is nothing when I have my repeat scan as I've heard they can disappear. Unfortunately I think NHS waiting times will be long so I've had a look at private places. I'm in Scotland and have seen laparoscopy prices from just under £4000 . I'm not sure if the lower end of the price scale is just the laparoscopy to diagnose then the price will increase if they have to remove or clip a tube. I looked at cyst removal and it's says it's from £6750. The hospital I was looking at does payment plans and interest free if paying over 10 months so I would imagine other hospitals may do similar. The waiting is awful 😞

ah I’m sorry to hear your news too 😢

I just had mine confirmed yesterday so just feeling really devastated about it all. I guess I will know more via the NHS in the next couple of weeks as my private consultant has referred me for the operation. Although I’m not holding my breath about the wait times. I really can’t mentally cope with a long wait before even attempting IVF so private is my most likely route. All just feels so unfair.

hope we both get where we need to be asap 🤞🏻❤️❤️
