CANCELLED IVF

Hello,

I have had a cancelled IVF cycle before the trigger shot.

I have 3 follicles at 15 and 16mm and others behind at around 6-7mm

Would you suggest trying naturally at this point or would it be too high risk?

Sorry to hear your cycle has been cancelled, yes I absolutely would try naturally and did when it happened to me. I didn't have any success with that but thought we might as well try.

Hope your clinic are going to outline next steps if you are planning to try again. 💐

You could still take the trigger shot and try naturally. I'm doing a letrazole (superovulation) round and have three follicles and have been told to have sex night of trigger, 2 days later and the day after that. Timings are probably different for ivf.

I've had ivf cycles cancelled in the past - it's so upsetting.

Thank you for replying! We were unsure as the clinic advised against it due to the risk of multiple pregnancies. We’ll definitely give it a go! It was our first cycle so we have an appointment next week to outline the next steps and what to improve for the next cycle.

Thank you again!😊

@seven201 We’ve been advised not to take the trigger shot as it could result in multiple pregnancies which is considered high risk at my clinic. We’ll still try naturally even though the chance of conception is low. This was our first cycle and although disappointing we’re hopeful that @we’ll know what to do better for the next cycle! Good luck with the letrazole, wishing you all the best!💕

@TTCIVF123 I don't want to recommend the complete opposite of your clinic. Maybe mine are happy for me with 3 follicles as I'm older and have been doing this for a very long time, so increasing the odds for me is 'safe'. Maybe you're at risk of some other follicles quickly catching up and releasing more than 3. Up to you.

Clinics have to advise against multiples- however there is no further risk to a multiple pregnancy with IVF and infertility than if you caught naturally or with clomid.

I'd go for it as long as your happy to have multiples.

I would also go for it, but as @seven201 said maybe when you've been doing this for a long time the risk feels worth taking.

My first clinic was happy to put back two embryos and I wasn't even that old back then. Subsequent clinics were much more wary of multiples.

OP if you wish you could ask for stats on likelihood of getting pregnant at all, and with multiples but it might not help your decision. At least try naturally and see if anything happens, fingers crossed for you.

We’ve been TTC for 2 years and I’m 26 years old. We’re very early in our journey but we’re still happy to risk having multiples.

Thank you! Fingers crossed I’ll be updating the thread with good news!
