IVF at 41

Hi folks, does anyone have any positive stories of doing IVF at age 41? We have a 2.5 year old who took 3 years to conceive, she was a natural conception but we did try IVF before her. Since then I've had 3 miscarriages and tried 3 rounds of medicated cycles which didn't work. I'm reluctant to do IVF again but don't want to regret not doing it! I'd hate to look back and wish I'd done it. But don't want to waste 6k if there's no real chance of it working. I'd love to hear from people who were successful!

Yes, I went through 2 rounds of IVF one at 40 and the next at 41. Both rounds has a double transfer. First round BFN, second around BFP , my DS is 3 months old now.

It can work but I'd suggest preparing for multiple rounds as statistically even when you get blastocysts most will be aneuploid (chromosonally abnormal), so you are likely to need multiple embryos to get a successful pregnancy. Best of luck.

Thanks so much for the reply! We don't have the savings to cover two and that's been on my mind so it's great to know that in advance! Also huge congrats on your little one.

Hi, just wanted to ask how are you doing since your last post? I am 41 now, had 3 chemical last year and now in July will be doing first IVF with genetic testing. It is additional cost but should save from more MC :( We moved to Switzerland and here things take time, long waiting time and DE not allowed. So I guess this year will be our last chance. I have 2 kids, tests are very good on both sides, so probably age is the main reason, we delayed too much.
Wishing you the best and update us on the progress
