Hello. Fairly new to mumsnet but really hoping someone can share their experience. I’m 39, 40 in April. On my first FET following fresh ivf cycle last year which ended in miscarriage. I was taking 6mgs Progynova everyday until yesterday when I had a scan. Lining only at 5mm, so dose upped to 8mgs of Progynova. Anyway… on Sunday I notice some brown discharge and it’s continued, they examined me after the scan yesterday and had no worries but couldn’t say if it was old period blood etc. I assumed it was the hormones causing an increase in cervical mucus mixing with old blood. I think I’m frightened that it’ll result in a full bleed and my cycle will be cancelled

Hello,
Im currently taking progynova to prep for my FET next week 8mg per day. I think you can have break through blood if you forget to take some - but I doubt that’s the case. I’ve experienced a high amount of ewcm on progynova. Did your transfer go ahead?

Hi @Stillhoping1990 it turned out to be old blood. Transfer went ahead after a week of additional Progynova. Good luck! 🤞🏼

@LittleAm thats great! When do you test? Fingers crossed for you - I hope you get some good news very soon!

@LittleAm how did it go? Did you have a fresh transfer prior to fet?

LittleAm · 08/05/2023 12:44

Hi @Fox01 yes, I had a fresh transfer last august which ended in miscarriage. I had a miscarriage last month with the fet. No idea why. Babies are always too small at 7 week scan, although we’ve seen their heartbeats. We go back at 8 weeks and both pregnancies have ended

@LittleAm oh that's horrible to read. Are they able to run extra tests? I had a fresh which ended 6+2 and away onto FET but I believe the same will happen. Don't know why. Are you having another round with anything different? It does make you wonder how others manage so easily!

@Fox01 its 3 losses before they’ll do investigations on the NHS where I am. We’ve not even decided what to do next, I don’t think they’ll do much different to be honest!
wishing you lots of luck!!!

@LittleAm it is but apparently they can do investigations after 2 if it's ivf related. There's a wee line in our nhs (Scotland) criteria thing that I found as I will be pushing for it. It is normally 3 if it's natural. Worth a try but most things aren't covered by nhs but they can check for blood clotting factors and put you on something to help if it is not already part of your cycle.
