In 2021 we did two rounds of IVF with my eggs and donor sperm (DP has azoospermia). Neither worked and we thought everything was done and dusted at time.
Took some time out and lately have been considering donor embryos/double donation. I'm in my 40s and we got 4 eggs first round with only 1 suitable for implantation and 6 second round with only two suitable. Suspect that my eggs are part of the reason it failed but glad we tried.
Today (17/18mths later) we discovered that we have a straw in storage at clinic. We had bought two Mot 10s on their advice due to the Mot 20 not being available for second round. Turns out they used only one which was absolutely fine. They are taking full responsibility for not telling us so no fees being incurred.
Now we have a decision to make.
1.Destroy
- See if clinic in Europe will let us transfer and use. Not even sure that's a possibility or costs involved.
Has anyone been in a similar position/had sperm moved from UK to Europe? Which country did you move it to and was it easy or a complete headache?
