Private laparoscopy and continuing NHS care

Hi all,
I’m stuck on the NHS waiting list for laparoscopy (ovarian drilling) and considering going private for the surgery. I’m confused how private care and NHS care combine. Can I chose to have the surgery privately but then have the further ovulation induction and scans if needed on the NHS? I don’t want to wait another 6 months for the op but also don’t want to go back to square one with the NHS care.
Thanks all!

Hi @alexlindsey1603 - sorry I'm responding a few months after your original post. I'd be keen to know how you got on? I'm going through exactly the same treatment for my PCOS and my ovarian drilling procedure is in May. Any advice?!

Hey, yes I ended up having the procedure privately on 6th March. I was so terrified in the weeks before but the whole process went well from the op it’s self to recovery and even on the day it’s self I was soo happy I had gone ahead with it. It will be 6 weeks on Monday and I’m pretty much fully recovered and in the middle of my first monitored cycle. It’s amazing how quickly the body heals but just make sure you give yourself time and pay attention to your limits in the first couple of weeks.

Hi, I sent with circle health group but mostly because that was the closest private hospital to me. They were very good and think they have a few different locations.
