Time between egg collection and FET?

Hi ladies

I am starting my first IVF cycle this month and just waiting for CD1 so I can start injections.

My treatment plan is to freeze all embryos.

If egg collection is around mid February, when would be the earliest I could have the FET?

How long did it take from egg collection to FET for you?

I am keen to get going but with timings as they are, I want to avoid clashing with Xmas and January birth (if successful obviously!)

Xx

I think it will depend on your recovery (if you get OHSS for example) and how long your clinic like you to wait inbetween. I had to wait for 2 cycles so my egg collection was June and I started my FET in August, I did have to push for this and I was also downregulating so the transfer would have been September. Unfortunately it got cancelled and I had to wait so transfer was eventually end of November. Some clinics let you transfer the month after though so it varies.

@Narwhal88 Thank you, that’s helpful.
what does down regulating mean? I’ve seen it a few times but not sure what it relates to.

That’s really helped manage my expectations though as naively I thought I’d have the collection, wait for my next period to start then have it transferred that cycle! I realise I am in it for the long game now.

is there anyone else who can share their experiences?

@whomoon it means you take a medication to shut your ovaries down, normally buserelin. I did it because I have endometriosis and it's meant to calm it down as it stops you producing estrogen. Not everyone needs to downregulate, just depends on your protocol and situation.
