Drop off semen analysis help

Hi I'm hoping someone could help. Hes having our second semen analysis tomorrow and for the first one he went to he was given a room and expected to produce the sample but this time we have been sent the pot in the post and it's called a drop off appointment. How do we keep it the right temperature etc and how does this even work? Are we definitely doing what we're supposed to be doing? I'm worried now!!

My other half had it like this for his first semen analysis app. We have received the sample pot in the post and date/time when the sample has to be handed in. We live about 1h away from the hospital where sample had to be handed in and sample has to be handed in within 40min of producing it - a bit of inconvenience, right? :D Unfortunately there is no other way. Read instructions - you should have received a letter/instructions with the sample bottle. We had to find and book a hotel room as close to the hospital as we could find it. If you live close to the hospital/or place where you have to hand the sample in, then can produce sample at home. He will have to carry sample in the pocket/close to the body so that it would keep specimen warm.

@TuttyFruts hey! Thank you for replying. I was just a bit worried we were going to turn up with this pot of semen and they were going to be like ummm what are you doing? You know when you overthink something too much 😂 luckily we don't live too far from hospital so I'll get him to put it in his pocket. G l a m o r o u s!!

:D fun times! I would also just mention - he must take referral letter/form from his GP (or whichever specialist referred him for the semen analysis). We didn't get referral letter/form literally till the day before we had our sample to be handed in so we called hospital and asked what to do, and they told us if we wont bring that referral form they would not be able to accept the sample. We had to chase this up with the surgery hours before they shut, apparently referral form got lost in the post or smth like that.

@TuttyFruts all we have is a form which asks for his details and then a form for the clinic to fill out his results!! Hoping this will be what they need as it doesn't state any kind of other paperwork to bring. Thank you for the heads up! X

@babypleasenow when my DP had to do his first SA we were given a pot and paperwork with where to go at the hospital. DP done his sample but had to go to work immediately after so was down to me to get it to the hospital. I kept it in my bra 😂 as read that it was best to keep it at body temperature. Got to the hospital only to be told they don't process SA anymore and it's now at another hospital which I had no hope of getting to before the sample was too old. We had been given the wrong paperwork. The receptionist at the lab was so apologetic (and not even their fault) and then asked if I wanted her to dispose of his sample, I was like yes please, don't want to be carrying round a pot of sperm in my bra all day at work 🤣
Poor DP then had to try and get another pot and do another sample a couple weeks later!
We laugh about it now but was not so funny at the time!
