Looking for some help / stories of hope…

We’re on our second round of IVF, now paying as only one NHS funded round.

In our first round last year, we got 3 eggs, all 3 fertilised and I had a day 3 transfer. Positive test but unfortunately ended at 9weeks with a miscarriage.

Due to low AMH, I took Impryl and DHEA for 3 months. Yesterday we had 7 eggs collected. I’ve just had the call and none have fertilised. they are keeping an eye on them until tomorrow but it does feel like all our hope has gone now for this round.

Has anybody experienced anything similar and how did you go forward? Am I still for holding out hope for late fertilisation?!

@bluehope may I ask if you have any known sperm issues? Can they tell you if it’s an egg or sperm problem?

hi 👋 no know sperm issues. In fact, two previous test and the previous cycle were all above average / highest end of the scale. With my low AMH, I am starting to suspect it’s an egg issue but it didn’t come up last time.

Heyy so in in our first ivf cycle (last summer) we had poor fertilisation and at our review we was told to consider the Calcium Ionosphere add on.

We’ve opted to use this for our next cycle EC will be around the 4 feb I’ll let you know how the addon has worked

Was going to suggest Artificial Oocyte Activation but I see the previous poster already has. I have no additional information to the above but it is the next step for us after a few rounds with poor fertilisation rate. Good luck @Bellwells, hope it does the trick for you!
