Has anyone gone for standard IVF rather than ICSI for mild MFI and if so, what was the outcome?

Hi :)
My hubby has had below average results for motility and morphology in the past but we managed to get them up to just within normal range with various lifestyle changes and supplements. However, he also has relatively high anti sperm antibodies and 33% DNA fragmentation so we opted for ICSI. I had my egg retrieval on Friday and luckily had 18 eggs retrieved. Hubby's sample turned out to be pretty good too so we decided to do 10 ICSI and 8 IVF. So far the IVF embryos are doing better than the ICSI! (we are however only on day 3 so appreciate a lot can change in the next couple of days.) I expect your clinic would be happy to play it by ear and see how many eggs you've got on the day and how your partner's sperm sample is looking before making a decision. Hope this helps x

@Koalie thank you so much. May I ask if you know what the motility and morphology was in your husbands tests which were below average? We are under on concentration too although we do have children and previous SA have been fine so not sure if it was a one off or not x

@Anonbaby our first was 27% motility and 3% morphology. Hubby has always had above average concentration though. I know SA results can fluctuate so it is possible for your OH to have a better result one month compared to another .. x

@Koalie yes that’s what we are hoping as he’s had 4 in total over the past few years and only 1 has been like this!

@Koalie when you say above average concentration, do you mean above the 15mil/ml? And do you know if the 27% was progressive motility or total?

@Anonbaby has he had covid by any chance? Because that can seriously effect SA parameters! See attached, thought it’d be easier x

Thank you! How long had you been TTC? Yes the concentration is really high isn’t it! I’m hoping this is just a one off anomaly
