Follow up appointment after ivf failure

Hi,

I had a round of ivf/icsi in November/ December which unfortunately ended in a failed fresh transfer (I got my period 7dp5dt). Luckily I have 6 frozen embryos.

I have my follow up appointment on Tuesday but am overwhelmed and not sure where to start/ what to ask. So far I have:

  1. How quickly can I start a new round / what's the process for starting a new round as my first round was NHS but now I'll have to self fund
  1. What will they do different for the next round (more progesterone? Blood tests to test hormone levels are appropriate throughout?)

Not sure what else I should be asking. For some context:

Me: 28, stage 4 endo, never been pregnant. Bmi slightly underweight

Partner: 29, reduced morphology, otherwise healthy

Sorry to hear it didn’t work. My first fresh round failed in December and I also have 6 frozen embryos left, due to transfer one soon.

these are the questions I wrote down to ask in follow up appointment
Why did it fail?
should we be genetically testing remaining embryos ? Cost, stats -
Does genetic testing compromise them
Monitoring hormone levels (weren’t checked pre transfer)
Lining was thick but was it tri laminar?
Next viable option for F E T
What options for FET, full med, or more natural less medicated
what are the costs for FET, possible extra costs, estimated medication cost?
what monitoring should be done next time

Thanks @PimlicoMum4 , really useful questions which I will be copying!

Really sorry to hear it didn't work for you first time, fingers crossed it is successful on your next go!

@Skincareaddict sorry your fresh transfer failed, its so disappointing. I was the same, had 6 embryos day 5, top quality hatching blastocyst transferred fresh and then came on my period at 7dp5dt. I was on 400 utrogestan morning and 400 evening. I had a frozen transfer after one more period and pushed hard about progesterone as I have naturally low levels, sometimes spot between periods

The consultant tested me this time (never tested for fresh!) And although it was 35 so over their threshold, I wanted to go on lubion as I was convinced I wasn't absorbing the pessaries as well or they would have held off my period in tge fresh round.
I got lubion and the frozen transfer in October was a success, now 14+2. I have to say going through that and noticing implantation and how early I started getting faint positives (the monday after a Thursday transfer) I don't think the first embryo even tried to implant despite its grade so sometimes it's just one of those things with IVF.
Definitely ask for more tests for levels and more monitoring of them perhaps along the way, but a frozen transfer is also easier on your body will far less frugs so that might have a bearing on outcomes too, good luck:)

Thank you @Imisscoffee2021

I'm really happy your FET worked, and that your consultant listened to you and let you have the lubion.
