NHS funding for IVF Somerset 2023

Does anyone have any idea what are the waiting times for NHS funding for IVF in Somerset at the moment, please? Me and my partner are trying to decide if should wait for NHS ivf or just go privately and not waste our time waiting (as we were told in the past that Somerset has over 3 yrs waiting list :( ... GP said they have no idea what are the waiting times at the moment, but from their tone we gathered it is more likely years rather then months :/ Any comments would be very well appreciated.

Hey I’m based in Somerset and got funding, definitely was shorter than this, we were delayed because of mistakes at the BCRM clinic, and also because we changed house, initially they did my funding request for the old address so we had to re do it - overall I’m sure we only waited 4 months. Also I was told that if you pay for 1 private you can still get funded for an nhs go as well, but I assume that’s only if your private one fails
