Any Letrozole success stories?

Secondary infertility. Ttc 2 years now. All other tests fine but I have PCOS.

my bmi is fine but I’m trying to lose a few pounds in case that helps (but not too go too low).
It’s been suggested I try Letrozole - does anyone have a success story with this medication?
I’ve been on various supplements plus Inosotol as well. I’m a bit desperate at this point !!!

Yes! I’m the same as you. Diagnosed with PCOS, Conceived #1 easily, then #2 was nowhere to be seen. I then conceived in my first month of letrozole + progesterone pessaries to support the lining of the womb after 15 months of nothing!

The doctors never quite worked out if there was actually an issue with my ovulation (because I’m 31 and had a baby they weren’t overly concerned)…I think maybe I was ovulating but irregularly or too late in my cycle. The letrozole helped me produce 2 follicles so I had double chance that month and perhaps the progesterone helped with the lining too.

So it can happen 😊 I feel very lucky. Wishing you lots of luck!!

That’s amazing ! I hope it works for me too. What cycle day did you have to start progesterone ? I might ask my doctor about that too . At this point I feel like I need all the help I can get !

After ovulation. They're bloody expensive and it's not pleasant doing pessaries twice a day (I stayed on them for the first trimester), but they can help prevent miscarriage. Also should have said I have a higher BMI, so it's great to be healthy but extreme dieting can really interfere with your hormones so please don't starve yourself!

Keeping all my fingers crossed for you... I feel obliged to put good stories on these forums now because I had so many months of hopelessness!

Is letrozole expensive? I’ll be getting it on a private prescription I’m hoping it’s not too bad !

did you have any side effects ?

that was in reference to the progesterone - it's called cyclogest. Letrozole not expensive and no side effects :)
