Sperm analysis help

Looking for some help re. my partners recent sperm analysis!

Sperm count came back very high - 500 million total - but motility was low (26%) and morphology was quite low (7% - though that is in the normal range). Does low motility matter if sperm count is really high? As surely overall motile sperm level is still high? The report noted it may be hard to conceive naturally with our result :(

Also does anyone know what rapid progressive and slow progressive means? Rapid progressive was only 17%, trying to work out what that means.

Any hints on improving motility also greatly appreciated. We had the test done privately after 8 months of trying (and one loss) and unsure what to do next!

@Superstorefan123 obviously I’m not a doctor but I personally would give it a bit longer of trying. You’ve managed to conceive technically within the 8 months and they say 1 year is normal but it can take up to 2 years. I know that SA can change all the time and it’s only one parameter that is low. If you repeated the test, you would probably get a totally different result.

I know how difficult TTC is however so I guess it depends how you are coping emotionally as to the route you want take

Hi @Superstorefan123,
Along with the usual diet and lifestyle changes that we've made, I bought some underwear designed to help keep the testes cooler than regular briefs (boxers are too uncomfortable for me). Been wearing them for several months now, haven't had a SA since but at least feel cooler and comfortable.
Good luck
