Looking for some advice please. I’m 40 and in the last 6 months have had two egg collections and two 2 day fresh embryo transfers that failed. I am due for a review with my clinic in the new year.
I am pretty sure that they are going to push me towards using donor eggs, at the moment I am torn. Each egg collection has produced 5 eggs which isn’t many, and only 2 survived each time, both times I was advised at transfer that the eggs were of good quality and had divided well. I can usually tell by day 5 after transfer that it hasn’t worked, any symptoms have completely gone, but I also appreciate this maybe the drugs and hormones.
I am wondering if it’s worth changing the donor, the one we have chosen has had no pregnancies confirmed.
When we first started this process I knew I wanted a baby, but my god, I hadn’t anticipated how mentally gruelling it could be. I feel like I don’t know what to do for the best.
Any advice would be appreciated.
