Did immunes testing reveal anything for you?

Hi,
As the title suggests? Did you have any immunes testing and did it show anything up? Was it likely to be a cause for your infertility? Did it reveal nothing? I am planning on having some in a few weeks and am curious as to the types of things it could reveal. I have read loooads about NK cells but wondering if it could flag anything else up.

I had the testing and it showed I have raised levels. So I had intralipids just ahead of transfer and have continued through pregnancy. Last dose in a few weeks. I’m further on than I’ve been in a pregnancy in 7 years (six losses in that time) so I think there’s something in it, and possibly steroids and progesterone, but I don’t think I’ll ever truly know. I’m on so much medication including aspirin and clexane but I’ve been on those before without success so I knew clotting was only part of the picture.

@MyEasterEggs

Hi there,

I have similar issues, 3 early losses, last one with Clexane and aspirin. They all die from 5.5 to 6.5 weeks.

What different did you take from previous loss? Steroids and intralipids. Only that?

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

@Zest11

I had some and got T cell imbalance. Took extra medicine this pregnancy but still ended up in MC.

There are other things they can check like lupus, antinuclear antibodies and so on.

Good luck

@Cherry35 this is an IVF pregnancy so I was also on oestrogen and progesterone (prontogest injections and cyclogest pessaries - easing off the latter from 16 weeks). I’d have added progesterone in a natural pregnancy though. My partner also had sperm DNA testing and treatment and we had our embryos tested. Threw everything at it as knew it would be our last attempt.

@MyEasterEggs How was your husband's DNA fragmentation test? What type of treatment he got?

We are moving to a new clinic after this last MC and thats the first test we got, will go later in January.

Are both of them (prontogest injections and cyclogest pessaries) different type of progesterone? Did you use both on the same cycle?

Sorry for many questions, but its something I could ask my doctor to add. Thanks!

@Cherry35 he saw Jonathan Ramsay, a urologist, and the test showed he had high DNA frag. So he had a urine culture to see if infection was the cause and tested positive for BV. I didn’t, at the time, but have had it in the past so we were both put on metronidazole. Neither of us were symptomatic but BV is linked with miscarriage so I feel like it was part of the puzzle for us.

We also saw Anna Firth and Melanie Brown nutrition and she had us both prep for a few months before starting treatment cycles. She helped me our gut health while treating BV among other things. I’ve seen Anna all year through egg collection, a mock cycle where I had an endometrio and finally transfer. I’m also seeing her through pregnancy.

Prontogest is a pretty potent form of progesterone. An intramuscular injection. I was on it because lubion didn’t work well for me. I’ve weaned off that now but am still on cyclogest pessaries. I don’t know the ins and outs of using both but it’s pretty common to have cyclogest and lubion - most people can get their progesterone levels high enough with them.

What clinic are you going with?

@MyEasterEggs thanks so much for the information. I'm in Australia so different clinics but from what I see here most of the protocols and treatments are the same or very similar.
