Hi,
Has anyone tried the NHS counselling after having failed IVF (or any other treatment that didnt work?). I know it will differ with each clinic but I wondered if anyone found it helpful? I've never done anything like that and find it a bit hard to open up about my feelings but we had our first failed attempt this month and I'm sick of laying awake all night with my head in a mess.

My other half and family have been great but I don't want to ruin everyone's Christmas so im just trying to shut all the feelings away but every night they all come back. I don't think many people know what to say anyway after the first conversation anyway.

Thanks for any insight anyone may have!

@Lauz0808 yes I 100% recommend!! I have been speaking to a counsellor since last September whilst we were on the waiting list, she supported me through two failed cycles and I still have calls with her now that we've went private elsewhere. It really is invaluable to have someone to talk to who is totally impartial, you won't worry like family, and speaks to others who feel the same way. She always reminds me my feeling are totally valid ❤️ I'm sorry your first attempt failed, sending luck and love xxx

I had brilliant experience with fertility counselling on nhs.

I am now no longer with nhs (for now anyway) but still see that same counselor privately.

Thanks, that's made me feel better about it. I kind of just thought they might think....oh he's another crying mess upset about something that they have no control of! Sorry to hear you've had two failed attempts. I don't know if I have it in me to try again at the moment x
