Letrozole first cycle question

Hi all, So I am hoping someone can help me with this question! I am on my first cycle of Letrozole on 5mg. I have had a scan and blood test which confirmed ovulation. If my calculations are correct I am 15dpo and AF is due in two days. I have had mild cramping on my left side and been feeling very emotional which isn’t normal for me. I have taken two FRER twice now over the last couple of days but still negative. Today I got brown/pink spotting and thought it was AF but I am not sure now. Could implantation bleeding be this late? I am also torn as I am meant to start second cycle of letrozole tomorrow but not sure whether this is AF! Has anyone taken a month break from letrozole and would this have a negative effect apart from slight time delay?
Any advice would be welcome x 🥰

At 15dpo unfortunately you are v likely out this round and I would anticipate that spotting will become AF @Luna0905

What do you mean you are due to start round 2 tomorrow? Letrozole is usually taken from cycle day 2. Cycle day 1 is the first day of your period. So you wouldn't start it if your period hadn't started.

If you ever need to take a break, taking a months break has no negative impact

Thank you @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl that’s really helpful 🥰
So if the spotting I’m experiencing today is AF then I should start taking letrozole tomorrow (sorry if I didn’t explain well in my original post) x

@Luna0905 cycle day (CD) 1 is the first day of proper bleeding so spotting would not be CD1.

What have your clinic said about which days to take letrozole? I just ask as some do days 2-5 and some days 3-6. Bloods should then be CD21.

Great you are getting follicle scans as well as bloods and that the 5mg is working.

Maybe worth mentioning about implantation bleeding - most pregnancies DONT have this and when it does happen it's usually the tiniest spot of pink or red.

Implantation in a successful pregnancy can be 6-12dpo but is usually 8 or 9 dpo with positive tests from 11dpo.

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl thank you for all of your input, very helpful! Yes they have advised days 2-6. Im sure it’s in the paperwork somewhere too which I’ll dig out tonight and read through again. I would usually call the clinic but not able to as it’s the weekend.

They have said that further scans and bloods are not required for subsequent months as it did work this month x

Glad I could help @Luna0905 . Just to warn you it is possible that 5mg might not work every time. I had one round work on 5mg then next it didn't so we were meant to move up to 7.5mg. however for most people if a dose works okay it will keep working
