Day 2 Transfer

Hi all,

I had my egg collection yesterday and had an update today. 10 of my eggs fertilised

The hospital has set a provisional transfer date as tomorrow (day 2) based on the logic that this is my first ivf cycle and they don't know how my embryos will develop.

I'm worried because I can't see many people who have a day 2 transfer, and this is my only nhs funded round so I don't want to waste it and rush through a day 2 transfer if a day 5 blastocyst would have better chances. (I know there's no guarantee any of my embryos will even get to blastocyst but its just so confusing and stressful to sit here thinking about the options)

So my question is, has anyone had day 2 transfers before? Or has anyone had similar numbers (10) which drop off rapidly leaving you with not very much at day 5

My day 2 transfer is now a teenager.
I have a friend who has one older teenager and younger twin teens all from 2 day transfers and another friend with a DS that turns 18 next week from a 2 day ET. All of us at different clinics btw.

I only had 8 eggs, 4 fertilised but by the time I got to the clinic for ET there were only 2 that had gone on to divide. The safest place to be was in me tbh.

Its all such a rollercoaster I know. Wishing you success Flowers

@Whatsthestorytomorrow thank you for replying. That has reassured me a bit, you're right with the safest place being inside

I hope the 2ww hasn’t been dragging too much for you, I know how torturous it is. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

@Whatsthestorytomorrow I actually ended up getting a day 5 transfer as I had 6 blastocyst

The 2ww is awful:( luckily I'm halfway through now

That’s amazing!

I started bleeding yesterday at 8dp5dt

Heartbroken.

I probably was on too low a progesterone dose, especially given I have quite severe endometriosis so am very oestrogen dominant

That's my nhs round done

Oh @Skincareaddict I'm so sorry 😢

Hey
ive just come across your thread after searching 2DT, my understanding with the nhs funded is one round is classed as complete when all embryos have been used

Skincareaddict · 29/01/2023 15:57

Hi @missODSx

I had my follow up and in my CCG, my nhs funded round only includes 1 embryo transfer, irrespective of how many embryos a round of stimming yields
