Calling in sick after embryo transfer

Hi,

Did anyone call in sick after E.T? What did you say? I think I'm overthinking this massively. I think I need to mention that transfer has taken place so I'm protected against pregnancy discrimination but I just don't know what to say.
Any ideas?

I think it depends why you want to call in sick?

If you're feeling unwell then take the day off, you don't need to use 'discrimination' as a reason for this. That is only going to get your employer's back up.

Embryo transfer generally is a fairly straightforward process and doesn't take long. I just have an hour or two off for the appointment.

Unless you have a Manager who is completely unreasonable then you’re definitely overthinking it. Just say you have something generic like a tummy bug, for one day it will be no problem and I can’t imagine any further questions. If you want a day to rest mentally then it’s fine but physically you will be fine to work the next day. I preferred to keep busy during the tww or my mind would have gone into overdrive.

I took 2 days off after my embryo transfer just to avoid any unnecessary stress in the first couple of days.
My boss new I was doing ivf so I just said they have advised I take a couple of days off.
Am now 19 weeks pregnant! Not sure the time off had any impact as I had a very stressful week at work on my return lol.
Just do what's best for you as you don't want to have any regrets.
Wishing you lots of luck xxxx

I booked annual leave after transfer so I could rest. Is that an option?
