Hydrosalpinx Before egg collection

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone has been in the situation I find myself in. Today was my last scan before egg collection and they seem to think they’ve seen signs I may have Hydrosalpinx.

Not one of my scans has brought this up, not even the one I had on Wed (Friday today). They cannot tell me if it’ll be a fresh or frozen transfer until the Drs do their work on Monday. Can the IVF drugs cause this? I’m worried if it’s been missed all this time. We are using NHS funding so to have a laparoscopy on the nhs could take months… feeling deflated and completely heartbroken.

thank you in advance to everyone on here 💕

Hey, sorry, I'm not in your situation but I've never heard of ivf drugs causing hydrosalpinx.

Did you have a hysterosalpingogram before ? If not then it could have been missed but it's odd if they sent you off to do ivf without doing all the tests.

Has the doctor told you if a hydrosalpinx would compromise a transfer ? Surely if they put the embryo in the uterine cavity it doesn't matter what the tubes look like (though I did hear that the tubes could "leak" into the uterus and compromise the embryo so I don't know...) Or have they said what treatment they'd recommand ?

Ive had a hycosy and multitude of transvaginal scans, it only came on my my last scan. They have deferred my transfer and will be frozen. They’ve told me to wait until my period comes in January & come back for a scan, if it’s gone I can continue with a transfer. I just feel very unlucky to come this far and this has happened.
