Is egg retrieval day negotiable/flexible?

For context I've just started a new temporary job a couple of months ago and I'm due to get a permanent contract in the next couple of weeks all being well.
We've had 3-4 years of infertility, 4 miscarriages at 5-6 weeks and about 6 chemical pregnancies but this is our first ivf cycle.
Because of my work situation I can't tell them about our ivf and so I've saved my holiday days to use for my appointments.
However my period came two days early and my follicles were looking good on my 8 day scan so they're considering egg retrieval on Wednesday and therefore transfer on the following Monday but both of those days are when I've got big meetings that will have an impact on my role at work.
So my question really is whether there's any flex on egg retrieval day? The next day would be perfect. Can they slow things down? Is it a big risk for me to suggest this? Will I lose the mature follicles?

I’d have to go with their recommend timings.
If the cycle didn’t work I’d spend the rest of my life saying “if only I had …”

I’m still kicking myself for confirming I wanted them to defrost my embryos for a FET when I had a sore throat, it ended up being tonsillitis by transfer day and I was far too ill to go ahead, but I was too impatient to wait until the next month.

Good luck with your IVF journey.

@RememberedForAllTheWrongReasons thank you for the advice. I Hope they spontaneously recommend Thursday for egg retrieval otherwise I'll have to think of some excuses for work.

I can't imagine any clinic agreeing to this out of convenience for you albeit I've heard of NHS clinics delaying things if things fall On a weekend. Honestly I wouldn't risk it. You've got this far

@MediaMinion the timing needs to be pretty precise in my opinion, so I wouldn't risk it. Hope you get to rearrange your meeting or work something out with your manager X

@sneezingpandamum yes, although we're with Care they don't do egg retrieval on Sundays and only very occasionally on Saturdays so that got me thinking that some manipulation of the dates are possible.
Anyway as it happened I had another scan this morning and they're actually pushing it back a little to Thursday or Friday because a couple of extra follicles popped up so they're giving them all a bit longer to mature.

Thank you @Tinkerbell098 I'm glad that I didn't have to suggest that we wait a bit later in the end, took the suggestion out of my hands.

@MediaMinion that's great it worked out in the end. All the best for your cycle X
