Does anyone have any advice after 4 miscarriages? Can't get any support from GP or hospital. Haven't made it passed 8 weeks but no one can tell me why. Any positive stories or advice welcome!

Hello, I had lots of very early miscarriages over 8 years. My next partner I fell pregnant within 3 months which was a successful pregnancy.
Something I never did but, I believe after 3 miscarriages you can sign up to the miscarriage clinic via NHS who can investigate matters for you. Go and see you GP to ask about this and ensure you tell them you’ve had 4.
Last pregnancy (successful) I actually took Agnus Castus pills and used progesterone cream both daily from BFP, I’m not sure if this helped but I think it did.
Best wishes

Thank you, i have a telephone appt next week with the recurrent mc clinic. I was under them after the 3rd but they didnt do anything when i got the positive test. Just shocking you have to get so upset on the phone to get anywhere & any advice they gave felt too late when im already miscarrying. Just have to hang on to that scrap of hope i guess! Did you self prescribe the cream or did they give you any?

If you can afford it you could go private. I've had 4 mc and go to the CRP clinic in epsom, Surrey. I'm now on lots of treatment to hopefully prevent another one. The tests and treatment aren't cheap though, but I'm 40 now (5 years of ttc for number 2) so am running out of time.

Self prescribed, I kind of guessed I might have low progesterone as I understand that can be a contributing factor to miscarriage. Sorry that the clinic isn’t being overly helpful that’s an understatement I’m sure!

I would absolutely agree with the last poster who said go private if you can, only judging from other aspects of healthcare private is a different world. So so much better!

Your NHS consultant should run some basic blood tests and offer progesterone for your next pregnancy. I have recently had a private consultation with Nova Fertility after 4 early miscarriages (all before 6 weeks) and they prescribed me steriods to stop my immune system fighting off pregnancies and blood thinning injections with high dose folic acid based on my history, so saved me lots of money on testing. Not had a positive test yet to see if it all helps but it has made me feel more hopeful as it’s so hard to keep trying after losses. Hope you get some help and support!
