What to expect…

I’m sorry if this isn’t in the right place - please direct me where to post if not!

I’ve just started my period meaning I’ve hit 12+ months of TTC.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with what happens next.. I’m guessing I speak to my GP and then are they likely to put me in touch with a fertility doctor (?) I’m based in the UK. Or will my GP try and help first?

Also, what sort of timeline should I be expecting? I’m assuming wait lists for the NHS are long so just wanting to manage my expectations.

I am diagnosed with an under-active thyroid, medicated on levothyroxine and have very irregular periods so will this affect the next steps?

Thank you in advance for any help offered.

Speak to your GP who will ask you questions to do a basic assessment and might run some blood tests and perhaps semen analysis, and would also hopefully refer you to your local fertility clinic. Time lines to be seen in clinic can vary specifically so best to ask the GP/fertility service for this detail. What happens after then will depend on the outcome of your consultations/tests. Hope this helps.
