Repeat semen analysis

Hi all,

We are completing the usual tests to get a referral to infertility, and DH has just been asked to repeat his SA. When he spoke to the hospital to book another appointment he asked if they could say the reason for repeating it in case there was something he could do differently. They said they would have a quick look in his notes, and there was a pause for about half a minute before the tone changed and they said: "there's no information that we're allowed to share with you, sorry. We can't say any more".

DH is now thinking the worst (and we're a bit blindsided because we knew I had some issues and hadn't really factored him in). I suppose we have to prepare ourselves that something isn't normal and may well stay that way. But presumably there is nothing productive we can do until the next results in a few weeks?

Sorry, I know no-one has a crystal ball and am trying to resist my default which is to start frantically Googling...

I'd call your fertility doctor, it's his information so they had to share it.

Just for reassurance as stres can cause high cortisol levels and therefore low sperm count. my DH had the first one done and was told he has Azoospermia and we were thinking the worst we did some gentle research on sperm count and learnt that hot tubs saunas and hot baths reduce sperm count so stopped all those. He stopped high intense work outs for 3 months ( this is how long it takes to regenerate, took vitamins and generally reduced stress and second analysis came back normal. X
