Medicated or natural FET - fluid in uterus

I am on take 2 after having a FET cancelled because of fluid in my uterus and thin lining. When I have been scanned outside of the cycle my lining has been fine and no fluid. I questioned whether the fluid could be caused by the estrogen tablets and the clinic said it's very unlikely and are nudging me to go medicated but say it is my choice.
They say the only issue with going unmedicated is that the transfer day may fall on a day that they don't have anyone to do the transfer and then it might need to be cancelled.

Not sure what to do, has anyone else had random fluid one time and then it not been a problem on another cycle?

@FlapJackered it's been a million years since I've talked to you! But I would highly recommend medicated. It's much easier to control, especially if there are issues with lining. They can add extra days to let it thicken without worrying that you might ovulate.

Also... Cross your fingers for me. I am hoping for some incredible news here. And that was a medicated cycle.

@KatBeCool so good to hear from you!! I have everything crossed for you! Are you in the tww now? I have been routing for you and hoping it goes your way, it has been such a long and hard road.

Yes I think you're right with the medicated. I have opted for that and just have to hope the fluid last time was just coincidence rather than a reaction to the drugs.
I am due to start early next week. 🤞

@FlapJackered I got positive first beta just earlier today and it's far more promising than it's ever been - 175! And this was a fully medicated cycle. My lining was almost 11mm, which is the best I've ever gotten. I don't even know what contributed to it. Maybe spirulina? I have been taking that. I've been preparing my uterus since June! Mounds of meds, therapies, and more meds. I'm so afraid to get excited as I've been here before, twice. I'm going on Saturday to repeat the beta just so I can calm myself down that it's hopefully doubling.

Your fluid was likely a coincidence, it's not a common reaction to drugs. I'm sure you'll do fine on a medicated cycle. It's much easier when you don't have to worry about ovulation, or thinner lining, etc. The meds will correct it all.

That's such fantastic news! I really hope you get some reassurance tomorrow. 🤞

I feel like I should probably have done more prep for this cycle. I have beetroot juice and pomegranate at the ready, but maybe I should add spirulina to the list!

@KatBeCool I have been thinking of you and hoping the blood test went ok? X

@FlapJackered beta was 445! So that's a nice increase. I'm literally counting hours to Thursday when my first scan is. I have zero patience.

Oh, I must mention. If you do take spirulina, start with a very low dose and slowly increase. Otherwise you may have side effects. So where are you in your cycle?

FlapJackered · 09/11/2022 13:58

@KatBeCool that's great news!! Congratulations!
Fingers crossed for tomorrow for you!

I started my period today so onto oestrogen tablets tomorrow. 🤞

@FlapJackered I am terrified of the scan. I've been waiting for so long, counting days, but now I'm so scared. Last time it was quite disappointing during the first US.

So it begins for you! How much oestrogen are you taking? Just the pills? So I was on Progynova 4 mg a day, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon for a week. And then I added the gel at night.

@FlapJackered I got to meet the blob today. Not going to lie, very underwhelming. You couldn't see much other than the gestational sac being there and, thankfully, away from the cyst. It measures within range for its age
My hcg is 4000. I'm not sure if yolk sac was visible, the image was very blurry. So yet another week of waiting. I might just book a scan maybe for Monday to possibly get a better idea.

How are you doing?

FlapJackered · 10/11/2022 21:02

@KatBeCool that all sounds really positive! Yes it takes a while before they start to resemble a baby!
I totally get the want to scan a lot, I think I will do the same if I get to that stage!

I am ok thanks, first day of progynova today and scan booked for a week on Friday!🤞
