Hi @onewishplease
I asked my consultant about it in July and he said there was little evidence to support it. He was however supportive of me taking DHEA (although they don’t prescribe it and you kind of have to initiate it yourself and other it from EU country).
For my next cycle he changed my meds to Menopur, and we had much better results. 7 eggs, 5 fertilised, 1 fresh 5 day transfer.
that was unsuccessful. Then another round of the same, 1 fresh 5 day transfer and 1 frozen. Unsuccessful.
then for the frozen transfer cycle he added prednisolone (steroid) to suppress my immune system, again unsuccessful.
now waiting to start another cycle of egg collection etc, this tile will use steroids plus intralipids. I’m 42, so possible that the embryos are abnormal, but he thinks it’s possible that my immune system is interfering with implantation, although no tests for that are accurate so they are just guessing.
I’m on DHEA although I stopped it during the steroids as DHEA increase their effect and I wasn’t feeling well. Consultants are a bit indifferent about the advents I find so you kind of have to do your own research and check in with them to see if they have anything against what you are taking.
we’ve signed up for another 3 egg collection/transfer rounds and that will be it for us (due to money)
I follow the plan recommended in the It Starts With The Egg book. I get my melatonin and DHEA supplies from Biovea UK.
I hope this helps you xx
