Pelvic pain around ovulation?

Has anyone else had this? I've been trying to keep a closer eye on symptoms during my cycle (I've just been referred by my GP to the fertility clinic). I've noticed I get a heavy feeling low down in my pelvis and some mild cramping around the time I ovulate. Not very painful but similar to gas pains. I'm pretty sure I never had this when TTC #1.

Anyone else get this? Is it a good sign? Bad? Endo? PID?

I feel like I'm going mad waiting for help on the NHS, even the blood tests have taken weeks. DH sperm analysis appt is a 2 month wait. I know I need to try and stay calm but Jesus christ.

I have this, started getting it in late 20s and still get it. I know which side I ovukated on based on where the pain is. No explanation so far and our infertility is male factor so having IVF with ICSI due to that. I've had tons of scans to get to IVF stage and they've never found anything wrong, I don't have any other symtpoms of PIDS or endo, I just get bloated and have some pelvic pain when I ovulate. You do release some follicular fluid into the pelvis when the follicle ruptures so my Dr hypothesised it was was that. I had a really painful one a few months ago and had a huge corpus luteum the day after on a scan so confirmed for me it was the follicle rupturing that causes the irritation and pain. Have you got any other symptoms of conditions you're worried about?

Thanks for replying. I've had some spotting in the couple of days before my period and I'm sure this is a recent thing over the past year maybe (and not getting pregnant of course). I think I'm a couple of days past ovulation and feel fine again. So maybe it is more likely a sign of ovulation than a sign of something sinister?

I'm considering just booking a private scan because I really feel like I'm losing my marbles waiting for the NHS referral.

Wishing you lots of luck with your IVF.

I also have that, and after having quite low progesterone on a few 2q day blood tests Dr thinks I have falling progesterone, not an issue for me doing IVF as its supplemented but can be an issue TTC X

Do you mind me asking how low your day 21 progesterone was?

Mine came back 'fine' but it was 27 - I challenged this as I've read a lot online which says this is quite low. GP insisted it's within the NHS limit.

Mine was 21 and 22, anything over 30 is supposed to signal pvukation and I confirm I do ovulate each month with scand and BBT monitoring but low progesterone isn't good for sustaining a pregnancy as im sure you know. In our case sperm never met egg so it was all moot and now I'm doing IVF I get supplementary progesterone, my fjrst transfer wasn't successful but looked like the fella tried to implant from faint tests, and I bled before the official trst date even when taking progesterone so I've been for bloods today to have them check this time and give me injections as well as pessaries. I told them before the first that I have low progesterone and they didn't test it before transfer, looking back I shoukd have pushed but it was ny first cycle and I thought 400mg might be enough, apparently not!

I get a lot of ovary pain around ovulation and after, always on the right side. Even if my body is trying to ovulate and doesn't quite get there I can get pain. I sort of see this as a good sign. Previous laporoscopy & EPU scans showed everything was normal with ovaries, etc.

With my past MMC my progesterone was 25.7 nmol/L or 8.1 ng/ml at 18dpo and 17.2 nmol/l or 5.4ng/ml at 32dpo, even though the hcg had been doubling well. I am going to do day 2-5 bloods and looking at the Proov tests to track over a cycle/s or blood test for ovulation / hcg weekly with any subsequent pregnancy. I just wanted to comment and follow this thread, though I am not ttc with IVF, just irregular cycles.

I think I may have very, very light spotting after ovulation and then even throughout the first 6 weeks of pregnancy, but it is so light it is hard to tell (like a light yellowish brown).

The best research I found on progesterone (once pregnant) was this article:
Ku, C., Allen Jr, J.C., Lek, S. et al. Serum progesterone distribution in normal pregnancies compared to pregnancies complicated by threatened miscarriage from 5 to 13 weeks gestation: a prospective cohort study. BMC Pregnancy Childbirth 18, 360 (2018). doi.org/10.1186/s12884-018-2002-z
