Hi Everyone,
I feel like this is the right place to come and talk, I know I will be among friends!
I'm 37 with an AMH of 4.1 and unexplained sub-fertility.
My first two cycles of fresh transfer IVF failed (each cycle only led to 1 embryo developing).
I didn't have the best experience with our clinic during my first two failed cycles, so we have decided to change clinics and have decided to make the huge financial and emotional comitment of going to CRGH... This will involve us moving from Chester to London for a month during treatment!
We had our initial consultation with CRGH this morning, and they have propsed some new things...
- Batching - doing two cycles
- Frozen transfer instead of fresh
- Using a mild stimulation cycle with no down-regulation
- Using DHEA, Growth Hormone and Clomid
- Using IMSI instead of natural IVF fertilisation
- Potentially doing some embryo testing, depending on how many embryos I get.
My previous clinic had been planning on going for cycle 3 and doing everything the same as last time, same protocol, same meds, same fresh transfer on day 5.. But, that wasn't working for me, so I think it's good to look to explore another way.
What do y'all think about this? It is a lot to take in, my mind is spinning.
I had hoped to use Access Fertility and go for the refund package, but apparently you can't do batching on any programme?!
So, I'm guessing this is going to be a very expensive cycle, especially with paying for accomodation in London on top of the IVF cost.
Can someone please give me some positivity and say that this looks / sounds like a good approach?!
It's a very lonely journey!
x
