ICSI / IVF First Time Success Stories at 38?

Hi everyone...

This is my first post and looking for some advice to get me through the next 3 weeks, ppleeeasseee!

We have been ttc for 3 years now, we have tried 3 rounds of Menopur, with no luck. Doctors have cited unexplained reasons for me not getting pregnant, as i have a 18 year old son already. My AMH level is 19.2 which I have been told is good for my age (38)

My partners sperm is slightly abnormal, but not at the point to cause great concern, at this stage we have decided to go down the IVF path, we are going with ICSI, as recommended by the clinic.

I am now on day 9 of stims, which i haven't found that bad and due for EC on Tuesday with transfer next Sunday.

Im really nervous about the whole process, has anyone any success stories or tips to help me get through this, what to eat, what to avoid etc, as I feel my head is going to explode with overthinking.

Thanks in advance

Hello!
I have just had my first ever round of IVF in September following 6 years of infertility. Like you I found the stims medication to not be too bad. Day of egg collection went well and I don't remember any of it due to the sedation. I was in and out in a few hours and they give you advise on what to avoid like spicy food and heavy exercise ect :)
Unfortunately they only managed to collect 3 mature eggs and my husbands sperm morphology wasn't good so we had the ICSI. From this we got 2 fertilised eggs but only one made it to embryo stage. We had it transfered on day 3. The transfer was very easy and quick. I actually found it to be such a beautiful moment watching it all on screen with my husband and taking home a picture of our little embryo. We knew our chances weren't great but our clinic reminded us it only takes one! And they were right! 13 days post transfer I got my BFP :D I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant now. I wish you all the best luck with you're IVF. It is honestly not tok bad at all. I think the worst bit about it is the 2 week wait just because it feels like forever xx

Hey, currently pregnant at 38 following successful IVF round 1. Only 1 viable embryo left on day 5 and it resulted in the current pregnancy. I'm now almost 19 weeks pregnant. Had IVF on my little boy too(now 3 years old) , again first round of IVF and only viable embryo on day 5! We are some kind of lucky! Hope it all works out for you. Just wanted to share as each time we thought it might not happen for us and then it did. X

...ps I just ate normally and didn't do anything special and got the above result.

Hi everyone - I'm 33 and had my egg retrieval yesterday! I didn't find the injections too bad but the side effects were undesirable! Mainly hormonal skin and terrible moods! I am uncomfortable today but feel a lot better than yesterday. We had 28 eggs retrieved which is why they've said I'm struggling to walk today!!

I would recommend drinking LOADS of water and rest when you can. Sending lots of luck xxx

Congrats SamSeers and wishing you all the best. I'm in the same situation with only one blastocyst from this cycle of ivf that is suitable for frozen embreyo transfer. I'm really anxious as the embreyo grading is 3CC. If you feel comfortable disclosing, could you confirm your embreyo grading?

I have had ivf and have just one frozen bladtocyst suitable for transfer. I'm really anxious as its grading is 3CC.
Does anyone know if graings can improve?
If anyone has had sucessful ivf can you confirm the grading of your embreyo and whether it was fresh or frozen transfer?
