Waiting for PGT-A results… anyone else??

I’m going crazy waiting!!!
I’ve completed Google 🤣

I’m 43/OH 50 - no kids
TTC 3.5 years 1MMC
3 round of IVF with IVF Spain
1 - ovulated early! No eggs 😕
2 - ovaries not recovered from round 1! 5 eggs, 3 mature, 1 fertilised - Day 6 5BC
3 - 5 eggs, 4 mature, 3 fertilised - 1 day 5 5BB 1 day 6 5BB

So 3 embryos sent for testing! It’s been 12 days since they were sent… it feels like 12 months!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫
i have days of feeling really positive and excited and then total end of the world days!
I thought TWW was bad! 🫣🫣
anyone else going through this right now??

Hahaha... I feel like that too. Internet completed a long time ago!

I'm a few days ahead, as we got our PGT-A on Friday. I totally agree, the waiting time is very hard. We managed to squeeze a little holiday in, which was a great distraction.

Fingers crossed for good news x

Yeah I am in the same boat. Never done IVF before (partner had cancer 4 years a go so he had to freeze his sperm before chemo, he’s fine now thank god).

3 embryos gone for for PGT testing. Not sure I would do the testing again if this round doesn’t work out….so many controversial views out there! Is it just a money making add on?

I’m 39.

CarpeDiem75 · 31/10/2022 13:18

@Michy12355 same age as you and just been told at my first IVF appointment that I should be doing these tests.. I am wondering if it is really accurate or not... I read in the US they don't do it too risky and not that accurate...

Michy12355 · 31/10/2022 13:31

I did feel a but rail roaded into doing these tests and not much info given on them prior!

anyway, we sent 3 embryos away, get our results on Nov 10th….I’ll let you know! Did you say you’d sent yours as well? Hope all is good! I’ve never been down this world of ivf but wowza it’s stressful! X

CarpeDiem75 · 31/10/2022 13:38

@Michy12355 no I have not decided yet what I am going to do it. I am waiting g for the clinic to send me I go and a quote!!! But because we can only afford one round I think o would prefer to have a fresh one and hoping for the best!

CarpeDiem75 · 31/10/2022 13:38

@Michy12355 hope you get good news with your tests!! So stressful indeed but so worth it I imagine when you hold your little baby at the end 😊

Hello!! Joining the club - just had my egg collection today, we're doing PGT-A so imagine the surviving embryos will be sent off for testing at the end of the week. They collected 21 eggs so just waiting to see how many make it to blastocyst stage, between this wait and the wait for the genetic testing results it's going to be a very long few weeks!

Michy12355 · 31/10/2022 16:09

That’s amazing 21 eggs! Good luck! Sure you’ll get some great results!

i had 9 but only 3 to blastocyst stage.

rest up after egg collection, I got so bloated!

it’s such a journey! Tbh I don’t think we’d do another round of these 3 aren’t normal.

Nat4819 · 31/10/2022 18:04

@Michy12355 Thank you!! I hope you get positive results for your 3 blastocysts 🤞🏾

I have definitely been taking it easy post collection - I was feeling so tired and bloated this morning so it's nice to be able to put my feet up and not feel like my tummy is about to burst!

Michy12355 · 31/10/2022 18:51

Thank you! You too, I’ll let you know how we get on.

rest up and eat nice stuff 😂 xx

Kelb79 · 31/10/2022 22:22

Best of luck to everyone 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
our results weren’t good - all aneuploid 😞
been trying to process the whole thing and really not doing good with it to be honest.
my doctor has said she’s happy to do another round with my eggs but she thinks it’s only about a 7% chance of success.
really hard to hear.
we’ve spent the last few days trying to decide what the hell to do 😵‍💫
it seems like an easy decision to make - do we want kids? Yes. Can we do it with my eggs? Not likely. So donor egg route it is.
but dealing with the implications of that and the reality of being told that I’m essentially infertile is really not easy 😞

So sorry to hear this, it’s all such a stress and you never think anything of it growing up/living life etc.

things will work out, my best friend had one egg and no testing and it was her last resort at age 41 and it worked out. How did your dr get the 7% analysis. Go with your guy feeling. X

Kelb79 · 05/11/2022 13:02

@Michy12355 im not sure where she got that figure on tbh 🤔 but my AMH has dropped massively since MC last year (from 5 to 0.5 😞) so I think it’s probably time to accept that DE is our only viable route.
its been a super tough decision, we got our hopes up so many times along the way and have been through sooo much 😩
ive had a LOT of wobbles about our decision to do the PGT- A testing….. we got ours free as part of a Mother’s Day offer so didn’t even think twice about it… but I’ve read so many things questioning it’s validity since that I’m starting to wish we hadn’t done it.
but then…. If the results were right we’d likely have have 3 failed transfers which would face broken me 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ God knows!!! I just wish something in this journey could be sure, I hate the uncertainty!!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

@Kelb79 I'm so sorry to hear about your results, I hope you are doing as best as you can. I completely agree with you about the uncertainty, I find it really hard not to dwell on all the what ifs.
