Endometrial calcification

I'm experiencing secondary infertility after a MMC in March. I have just had a HyCoSy and the radiologist saw some
calcification in my endometrium which is likely retained tissue from my MMC 8 months ago. Anyone had this? What happened next? I'm really pissed off because my HPT took ages to go negative after my D&C, and now I realise I should have pushed for a scan which the doctor said wasn't necessary.

@Cegbee I'm due to have one last month so not had an experience of this myself but for balance thought I'd share my experience. After my mmc, my HCG too 12 weeks in total to go to 0. I had so many scans, tests etc and there was never any retained product, just my body took longer than most to shift the hormone. So it could be that your slow shifting HCG wasn't due to retained products. Did the sonographer say it was retained products or could be some other normal explanation?

Thanks @bunnykins123, good to hear your experience and that mine wasn't so out of the ordinary. I think he suspects it's an area of calcified retained placental tissue but what I don't know is whether that is the reason I'm now not conceiving or not. Perhaps I won't ever know that. He's recommended I have a hysteroscopy to look at it closer before having any embryo transfers if we do IVF but I am still hoping to conceive naturally and don't know if this will stop me doing so.

@Cegbee we are in a similar boat. I have gone from easily conceiving (3x miscarriages) to suddenly nothing. I've just turned 38 so I think that complicates things a bit. I had a hysteroscopy in August - was completely normal. What tests have you had done? I'm sorry to hear of your loss and current situation - utterly s**t isn't it. I'm also going through the steps of considering ivf and can't believe we are here 😢 I'm having a hyfosy end of my next period and DH is getting dna frag test next week.

@bunnykins123 I've had AMH done and then HyCoSy now yesterday where they also did my antral Follicle count. Having hysteroscopy next month hopefully. DH have sperm analysis next week, so just starting investigations and then have consultation with fertility specialist in December. I'm 39 in November and really want to have a second baby before I'm 40! All the waiting every month is killing me :(

@Cegbee how is your AMH looking? Same as us - is he having the normal one or dna frag? Oh tell me about it. I've been trying for 14 months and every month I kept thinking 'this is it'. It doesnt help that I've been getting worse pms over the last few months so obvs think it's a good sign for pregnancy - nadda 😂 I also have high NK cells so that complicates it. I so don't want IVF. The thought fills me with so much fear but I think if we want another, that's going to be the only route now. Have you decided on a clinic?

Cegbee · 16/10/2022 17:00

@bunnykins123 my
AMH is 19.2 which is OK I think. Just doing standard sperm analysis as a starting point. Haven't had any add in tests. We're actually in Canada although we're British and there's only two fertility clinics, the one I've chosen seems to be good though. Very efficient so far.

@Cegbee those numbers are really good! Hopefully you'll get some answers next month from the hysteroscopy and you are able to move forward with ivf 🤞

Cegbee · 17/10/2022 22:40

@bunnykins123 thank you, same to you. Fingers crossed you won't need IVF but if you do sending you good luck vibes! Perhaps once it starts it's less scary, maybe it's the anticipation of it that's the worse thing?!!

I know this is a few years later but wondering what the outcomes were as I've just found I have endo calcification as well. Struggling sit h secondary infertility. Doctor says the calcification is not a problem but everything I've read says it can cause secondary infertility. All help and experiences very appreciated
