@SH998 heyyy welcome ! I just had a FET !!

so there is two protocols , short one and long one .
normally the standard one is long one which takes 8 weeks . Short one is 4 weeks .
long one -
1- when your period starts you ring the clinic and let them know .
2- day 21- you start norethisterone - to stop your period from starting until clinic tell you ti stop taking the tablets - normally for 5-14 days . Depending on clinic availability .
once you stop notethisterone , period starts 2-4 days after that.

3- you’re period starts and one week later you start taking oestrogen patches on your leg and small tablets estrogen too . It’s to thicken your lining of your womb for trasfer . You do this for 3 weeks with 2 scans in between . One scan after 2 weeks and second scan on week 3 .
mid lining is good on last scan week 3 then you start taking progesterone for the next 2 weeks until pregnancy test as well as all the other meds you been taking for last 3 weeks . to allow implantation of the embryo .
trasfer will be booked 5 days to 7 days after last scan .
then you go for trasfer and carry on meds for the next 2 weeks until pregnancy test . And that’s it ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻 Hope I helped .

short protocol .

1 week before you’re normal period you go to clinic to get a small rice size bullet inserted under your skin near belly button to stop your ovulation for the following cycle .
then when the period starts , 7 days after that you go for a scan to make sure ovary’s are quiet and not creating follicles . Then if all is quiet you start oestrogen patches same day to thicken the lining . You do that for 7 days and go back for a scan to make sure lining is nice a thick . If it’s right thickeness you start progesterone as well as the patches after the scan to thicken the lining and start progesterone pessaries to let implantion to happen . then trasfer will be booked 5-7 days after this scan . Then you go for trasfer after while carrying in with meds until pregnancy test 🥰🙏🏻 Normally they will prescribe injection progesterone as well as your pessaries after trasfer too to support progesterone levels even more .

I'm on a slightly different protocol. I've been on Buserelin for 6 weeks to down regulate. I started taking this Day 21 of last cycle, I got a bleed about 12 days later and then started on estrogen.

Finally off Buserelin now, but had several scans and increased oestrogen (vaginally) to increase my lining. (5 doses a day)

Today I started on progesterone pessaries x2

FET is this Friday

Mine was different again! Seems each clinic has its own protocol. I am fairly sure the below as mine, definitely only took around 2 weeks.

CD1: call clinic to book on
CD2: Scan and start oestrogen tablets
CD9 or 10: Scan and start progesterone
CD15: Transfer

OTD was 10 days later. So simple compared to a full IVF cycle!

Mine was also different. I started estrogen tablets on CD2. Scan at CD10. If all on track, start progesterone CD16. Transfer on CD20

DaffodilSunshine · 09/10/2022 13:34

That should be start progesterone on CD15

Oh goodness, all above is a lot to take in so I’ll need time to read through all the comments and take it in lol :). Thank you all so much for the comments, it’s interesting to see how many areas/individuals are treated differently.
I’ve already gone through first collection which I sadly lost at 8 weeks but have no idea of the FET. Good luck to you all ladies, let’s hope this thread will be carried on and we will all have happy news :) xx

I’m different again @SH998

I do natural modified transfers which is your natural cycle, plus some scans and ovulation tracking. Tell them when you get a positive and they schedule you in. You take progesterone but nothing else.

It’s probably a good idea to ask your clinic what they do as standard, you’ll probably be on that unless you ask for something else.

Mine was also different. I started estrogen tablets on CD2. Scan at CD10. If all on track, start progesterone CD16. Transfer on CD20

Mine is the same as this. With the cycle before that being a mock cycle and decapeptyl injection plus ultrasound to check uterine thickness.

Good luck xx
