LONG cycles, letrozole

Does anyone else have LONG cycles? I see lots of people say they have long cycles at 45ish days. I have cycles 150+ days… I have PCOS, seems I do not ovulate, am under a fertility clinic, have a hycosy this month, then start letrozole next month. I just wanted to ask if anyone else has cycles this long? And bonus if you’ve used letrozole, how did you get on?

@Hedgehugs I have had super long cycles (120+ days) since I stopped the pill. I got diagnosed with PCOS in August and had the first fertility clinic appointment a couple of weeks ago. I’m supposed to have a hycosy and bloods done this month and hopefully staring OI next cycle. How are you getting on? Did you get Provera to induce periods? I’ve just got it prescribed in preparation for hycosy and I’m scared it’s not going to work!

Hi @WafflesNCream sounds like we are going through the exact same. I had bloods and internal ultrasound. Then I took provera twice a day for 7 days. 5 days after taking the last tablet (cycle day 159!) my period came! My hycosy is booked for Monday. If all is ok with that I hope to start letrozole next cycle. Keep me updated on how you are getting on :)

Yeap, my longest was 161. I was put on letrozole and recently conceived randomly, probably helped along by the letrozole even though it still didn't get me ovulating within a normal cycle length. About 9 weeks at present

Should say I also had a pelvic US and hycosy . I don't meet PCOS criteria but clearly had an ovulation disorder

@Hedgehugs Fingers crossed for you, I’m starting Provera tomorrow. Hopefully the side effects are not too bad.
@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl Congratulations, that’s fantastic news! x

@WafflesNCream Provera had me feeling a little nauseous and sore boobs which I am assuming is due to the proveva! But otherwise not too bad. Hope it’s kind to you!!

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl thats amazing news. It’s so nice to hear letrozole success stories, it gives so much hope!!

@Hedgehugs I finished taking Provera today, my doctor told me to take it for 5 days. Surprisingly no side effects. Hopefully your hycosy went well.

Hedgehugs · 17/10/2022 19:26

@WafflesNCream how you getting on with provera?
